Super Bowl Menu + Shopping List

Updated: Feb 3, 2021

Here's a complete Super Bowl menu and a shopping list to make your day effortless!

Complete Menu (Serves 8 Adults):

  • The PERFECT jalapeño poppers

  • Chips and cheesy salsa dip

  • Irresistible grilled (or baked) wings with 2 sauces

  • Overnight crockpot little smokies (spicy)

  • Loaded potato bites

The PERFECT Jalapeño Poppers

I think turkey bacon gets crispier easier/faster in the oven, but feel free to use regular bacon!

Ingredients:

  • 15 jalapeños

  • Two 8oz packs of spreadable cream cheese (or whipped)

  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese

  • 2 packs of turkey bacon (you'll need at least 30 slices of bacon)

  • 1 bunch of green onions (chopped)

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp mustard powder

  • Salt & pepper

Directions:

  1. Cut each jalapeño in half lengthwise and removing the seeds and stems. (TIP: Wear disposable gloves during this process AND/OR wash your hands thoroughly after doing this!)

  2. In a separate bowl combine the cream cheese, chopped green onions, 1 cup of shredded cheese, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp mustard powder, salt & pepper.

  3. Fill each jalapeño with the mixture and then wrap each one in a slice of turkey bacon. (TIP: use a toothpick to secure the bacon if needed!)

  4. Bake at 400 until the bacon is fully cooked and crispy (usually 20-ish minutes)

If the bacon doesn't seem crispy enough for you after 20 minutes, you can put it under the broiler (on low) for a few minutes. Watch it carefully to be sure it doesn't burn!

Cheesy Salsa Dip

My sister-in-law and mother-in-law make this anytime we have a family gathering. I'm obsessed. This is their recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb of ground beef

  • 1 brick of velveeta

  • 1 8 oz block of cream cheese

  • 1 jar of your favorite salsa

  • Tortilla chips

Directions:

  1. Cook the ground beef on the stove until completely cooked through.

  2. Add this to a crock pot (or insta pot on the slow cooker option)

  3. Add the velveeta and cream cheese and jar of salsa to the slow cooker/instapot and cook until everything is melted together! (Stir occasionally to prevent burning.)

Serve with tortilla chips, pretzels or crackers!

Grilled Wings/Drumsticks

I prefer to grill my wings (yes, even in the winter!), but baking them will work too.

For the best flavor, you'll want to prep the wings the night before so they marinate overnight!

Ingredients:

  • 2 family packs of family size wings/drumpsticks

  • Reduced sodium soy sauce (1 bottle for marinading)

  • 2 boxes of chicken broth (for marinading)

  • 1 tsp mustard powder

  • 2 tsp red pepper flakes

  • 2 tsp smoked paprika

  • 3 tsp onion powder

  • 3 tsp garlic powder

  • Salt & Pepper

Directions:

  1. Create the marinade by adding the soy sauce, chicken broth, mustard powder, red pepper flakes, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt & pepper and stirring together until well combined. (IF YOU'RE GRILLING: Set 2 cups of this marinade on the side before you add your chicken)

  2. Add your chicken to the marinade and refrigerate it in it until you're ready to cook.

  3. Grilling: When you go to grill your chicken, create a dry seasoning combo to sprinkle on each wing. (Seasoning combo: 2 tsp garlic powder, 2 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp mustard powder, 1 tsp smoked paprika, salt & pepper) Sprinkle each wing with the mixture and then place on the grill. Cook on a medium temp until fully cooked. You'll want to use the reserved marinade and brush the wings occasionally (every 7-10 minutes or so) to give them extra moisture and flavor!

  4. Baking: When you go to bake your chicken, create a dry seasoning combo to sprinkle on each wing. (Seasoning combo: 2 tsp garlic powder, 2 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp mustard powder, 1 tsp smoked paprika, salt & pepper) Place each wing on a non-stick baking sheet, dry them off very well, spray with an olive oil cooking spray and then sprinkle each wing with the seasoning mixture. Bake at 375 until fully cooked. Cover the wings if they start to brown too quickly. You'll want to give at least 30 minutes for the wings to cook.

Serve with ranch, BBQ sauce and a buffalo sauce for dipping!

Overnight Crockpot Little Smokies (Spicy)

Ingredients:

  • 3 packs of 14 oz little smokies

  • 3 jars of 12 oz chili sauce

  • 1 cup of water

  • 2 tsp red pepper flakes

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Directions:

  1. Add the little smokies to your crockpot.

  2. Cover them in the sauce, add 1 cup of water and the seasonings.

  3. Cook on low until you're ready to serve!

Loaded Potato Bites

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag of small bite size yellow potatoes (Brand: The Little Potato Company from Meijer is what I use)

  • Sour cream

  • Real bacon bits

  • Shredded cheddar cheese

  • Green onions

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • salt & pepper

Directions:

  1. Scrub and wash your potatoes. Cut them in half and lay them on a non-stick baking sheet.

  2. Use 1 tbsp of olive oil and coat the potatoes in it. Salt & pepper the potatoes and then bake at 400 until tender.

  3. While the potatoes are cooking, add 1 cup of sour cream, 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese, 1/4 cup of bacon bits, 1 bunch of green onions (1/4 cup), 1 of tsp garlic powder, 1 of tsp onion powder, salt and pepper to a bowl and mix well.

  4. Once the potatoes are done cooking, smash them down slightly and let them cool off a bit.

  5. Once they are warm, not HOT, add a dollop of the sour cream mixture on top of each one and serve!

You can add hot sauce or ranch to the top of these as well! So yummy!
